Mr. Menko B. (Koos) Plaggenborg MSc, is a registered Dutch and European patent attorney and is a member of both The Netherlands Institute of Patent Attorneys and the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office. He graduated as a chemical engineer from the Technical College and the University of Groningen where he studied Process Technology and Technical Chemistry with a strong emphasis on Mechanics.

Being a fully qualified Dutch and European Patent Attorney, Koos Plaggenborg primarily is active in the field of mechanics, building engineering, technically related chemistry like polymer processing and applications, reaction engineering and equipment, as well as civil engineering.

Before starting Octrooibureau Novopatent,  Mr. Plaggenborg gained in the past 18 years broad experience as a Dutch and European patent attorney at highly respected Dutch patent firms, dealing with various aspects of intellectual property law, such as patent filing, patent prosecution, oppositions, third party observations, licensing and reinstatement procedures.
